A club for fans of your brand or users of your services is a highly cost-effective way to increase and prolong their loyalty.

It also provides a new route to communicate directly with them on a regular basis (which, usually, costs you nothing!).

It can also become a brand new direct sales channel – a highly effective one at that because you’re communicating regularly with a highly responsive audience.

The real beauty of a fan club with a joining fee is that, once it has been launched, it becomes a permanent promotion but doesn’t cost you anything more. In fact, not only are there no costs to you beyond the launch, it becomes an increasingly effective marketing tool as time goes on.

One note of caution however: we have rescued many clubs over the years that were costing their owners far more than they bargained for. On the surface it seems easy to launch a Club but, if you’re not very careful, it will continue to swallow money, and that accelerates steeply as a club’s effectiveness declines.
